Which Letter is First?

A new music student was asked recently by an instructor, "What is the first letter of the musical alphabet?"

The student answered, "Middle C".

"hmmmmmm", answered the instructor, "Why did you say middle C?"

The student answered, "I don't know. I think that is because that is the note I learned first on the piano."
